About VocalCode
VocalCode is an on-device push-to-talk voice input app for people who work with AI coding agents. It was created by software engineer Daming Wu for Windows and Apple-silicon macOS.
Brand name and spelling
VocalCode is the official brand spelling. Vocal Code is a common spaced rendering of the same product name. Both refer to this on-device voice-input app at vocalcode.app. The app is unrelated to vocal cords or to products and services named VocalCord or VoiceCode. See the official Vocal Code product gallery for current screenshots and brand images.
What the app does
Hold a configured key or mouse button, speak, and release. VocalCode recognizes speech on your computer and inserts the resulting text into the active field in most desktop applications. It is designed for prompting tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, but it is a desktop input utility rather than an AI coding agent itself.
The app has a 30-day trial and a $4.99 one-time launch price, plus applicable tax. Model downloads, licensing and update checks use the internet; recognition audio and transcripts are not uploaded to VocalCode's servers.
