Wispr Flow is a subscription: keep paying or stop using it. At $15/month that is $180 a year, every year. VocalCode is $4.99 once — the launch price, and it rises as the product grows, but whatever you pay is what you pay. There is no account, no seat and nothing to cancel.
Being honest about what that buys them: a subscription funds a cloud model that can be swapped for a better one overnight, and a team that keeps tuning formatting. A buy-once cannot promise that.

…you want your speech reformatted and cleaned up by an AI pass, you dictate on a phone as well as a laptop, and a monthly bill is not the thing you mind. It does more than we do, and it does it well.
If the AI rewriting is the feature you are buying, we do not have it and are not pretending to. If what you actually want is your own words appearing where the cursor is, without a monthly line item and without a server in the middle, that is the entire product and it costs less than one month of theirs.
